Beta This is new, and the Ledger is still testing it. If something looks wrong or breaks, report it.
What's being built near you
A building permit is the city's OK to start work. Put in an address to see the big projects the city has approved nearby: apartment buildings and businesses. Houses, new or old, are shown only as counts.
Data current through Oct 23, 2026.
The address is looked up in the City of Albuquerque's address list, in your browser. The Ledger never sees it.
Biggest recent projects in Albuquerque
No projects match. Try a wider distance, a longer time or "Everything". New houses are only counted, in the box above, never listed.
Dots are projects. Houses are never shown as dots.
Where this comes from. The City of Albuquerque. Permits through Jan. 16, 2025 come from the city's open map data (the building permits layer). Permits since Jan. 28, 2025 come from ABQ-PLAN, the city's new permit portal. The Ledger reads the portal's public permit search, which needs no account, once a day. The portal posted no terms of use when this was built, and it was last read Oct 25, 2026. A permit means the city approved the work, not that it is finished or will be. Dollar amounts are what the builder told the city.
What is left out. Houses get privacy. Every house, duplex and townhome, new or old, whoever builds or owns it, and every pool at a home, shows only as a count, placed to the nearest quarter mile, with no names, house numbers, descriptions or pins. A person's name is never shown. Owners and builders appear only when the city's record gives a company, church, school, bank or agency (an LLC, Inc, Corp, Co, LP and the like). Permits for demolition, roofs, solar, walls, plumbing and electric work are not listed.

This page updates itself each morning. No one at the Ledger reads each permit. If a card is wrong, report a problem.
